Wenling (温岭): China's largest pump manufacturing base. Submersible pumps, sewage pumps, agricultural pumps, and industrial pumping systems. Also strong in small motors and footwear. The pump supply chain is vertically integrated: casting, machining, motor winding, and testing all within the city.
Yuhuan (玉环): Valves, plumbing fittings, and bathroom hardware — the "brass capital." Copper alloy valves, faucets, pipe fittings, and sanitary ware. Mold quality is directly proportional to price
A cheap Huangyan mold will produce cheap parts. Specify steel grade, expected cycle count, and surface finish requirements in detail. A mold ¥20,000 mold and a ¥50,000 mold may look identical in a quote but differ enormously in performance.
English is extremely rare
Huangyan factories have essentially no English capability. Mold discussions are technical — bring a translator with manufacturing vocabulary.
Distance from major airports
Taizhou has a small airport with limited international connections. Most visitors fly into Hangzhou (2.5 hours drive) or Ningbo (2 hours).
